About Stuart Conover
Stuart Conover is a husband, blogger, published author, geek, entrepreneur, editor of Buy Zombie, horror fanatic, science fiction junkie, lives in a world of comics, and a casual gamer (all of this when his wife lets him of course.) He fell in love with science fiction and horror at the same time while watching the movie Alien at probably far too young of an age while still being extremely impressionable and has been happily obsessed with both since! It probably didn't help that he read Dune shortly after this and fell in love with the rich world that it presented his teenage mind. Around the same time he had also developed an unhealthy addiction to comic books. While he was able to break free (at least from the comics) for 8 years he (like many addicts before him) has fallen back into the habbit of reading them on a weekly basis. When not having too much on his plate for any healthy person he tries to skimp on sleep enough to get an eye straining amount of movies and television shows watched.
Favorites: Dune, Alien, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Star Wars, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Falling Skies, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Stargate, The Walking Dead, and everything mainstream Marvel.
Location: Westmont, IL

Comic Book Review: ‘Iron Man’ #10
Previously on Iron Man, Tony Stark decided to take a little jaunt into space to clear his head. Immediately he was taken prisoner as being charged with the death of The Phoenix. Instead of being put to death he was able to escape with the help of an Android named 451. This android... -
Comic Book Review: ‘Wolverine and the X-Men’ #29
Wolverine and the X-Men just finished off a great little story arc that set his focus more on being the new Professor and giving us a better idea of some of his students. It also hinted towards future plot lines by bringing back his brother Dog into the mix. Finally though it... -
A New Look At The ‘Robocop’ Reboot
When I first heard that Jose Padilha was making ‘Robocop,’ I’m pretty sure that many of you did the same thing that I did – groaned. It seemed to be the height of the reboot mania mixed in with the fact that I had absolutely no idea who Jose Padilha was.... -
Arnold Schwarzenegger To Train The Next Toxic Avenger?
Photo credit: Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com Well it looks as if Steve Pink’s upcoming remake of ‘The Toxic Avenger’ is coming along rather nicely. The early 80s cult classic which spawned a slew of remakes so cringe-worthy you couldn’t help but watch... -
‘I, Frankenstein’ Gets A Motion Poster
Do you love graphic novels and horror? It’s an ever increasingly popular category in Hollywood these days (I’m sure it helps that’s it’s being fueled by the runaway juggernaut, ‘The Walking Dead’) With an increasing love for the genre, there... -
Guillermo Del Toro Talks ‘Justice League Dark’ and ‘Monster’
Guillermo Del Toro is a very busy boy these days. While sadly it’s not from working on ‘Hellboy 3,’ its at least due to some other pretty fantastic looking projects that I’m excited to see him dig into. We all know that ‘Pacific Rim’ is about... -
SyFy Will Be Bringing Us A Second Season Of ‘Defiance’
When the first episode of Defiance’ aired, and it opened up with a soundtrack that was clearly done by Bear McCreary of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ fame and I knew I may just be in trouble. With an introduction set to his music, I know I’d have no choice but... -
Book Review: ‘The Mad Scientist’s Daughter’
In ‘The Mad Scientist’s Daughter’ we see that the author, Cassandra Rose Clarke, twists a slew of extremely interesting ideas together. It is set in the near future as a cataclysmic event has shaken the fabric of our world killing off quite a bit of the population.... -
Comic Book Review: ‘Avenging Spider-Man’ #20
The Spider-Man team up books in the past had honestly been a little bit boring before Dr. Octopus took over Spidey’s life. Now it truly feels as if it’s building to a huge crossover into the mainstream title as for some reason Doc Ock has been apparently collecting... -
Comic Book Review: ‘Thor: God of Thunder’ #8
Of all of the Marvel characters that fall into the larger universe who can have their own book, Thor is the most fitting. Wolverine is everywhere to the point of it being ridiculous but Thor? He’s a God. He’s not going to just be hanging out with The Avengers all... -
Comic Book Review: ‘Uncanny X-Force’ #4
With a team (and I use that word very loosely here) consisting of Storm, Psylocke, Puck, Fantomex, and Cluster you’d think there would be a huge interest in what’s going on. Mix in them being on a black ops mission for Wolverine and throw in Bishop, Spiral (Psylocke’s... -
Comic Book Review: ‘Astonishing X-Men’ #62
In the last issue of Astonishing X-Men, we were still seeing the X-Termination event happening and while the event is over there are still repercussions occurring in the Marvel Universe. This issue shows the beginning of exactly one of those repercussions. Back in the Age of... -
Comic Book Review: ‘Alpha: Big Time’ #4
Well 4 our of the 5 issues of this mini-series are down and I’m still enjoying it far more than I ever thought possible. Turning a character like Alpha who at first you can’t stand into one that you are rooting for takes talent and Fialkov has been pushing that talent... -
Comic Book Review: ‘Wolverine’ #3
The latest Wolverine series has so far put our overused fan-favorite on the path to save a child. A child whose dad was infected by an alien that was using him to cause quite the ruckus and when Wolverine eventually took him down, the alien then took over the son’s body....
