Michael Rosenbaum Said No To "Crisis On Infinite Earths"
The CW

The CW is hoping to deliver the ultimate DC Comics fan experience with the upcoming “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover.  Not only will episodes of five series– ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Batwoman’, and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’– be devoted to this storyline, but Cress Williams, star of ‘Black Lightning’ will also appear.  But Williams is just one of an all-star parade that will pop up in some capacity, including Burt Ward, who played Robin on the 1960s ‘Batman’ TV show, and Kevin Conroy who has voiced Batman for decades.  The most recent guest-stars announced were Tom Welling and Erica Durance who will reprise their roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane from the long-running hit ‘Smallville’.  But one of their main co-stars won’t be joining them, and that’s Michael Rosenbaum, who portrayed Lex Luthor, Clark’s best friend-turned-worst enemy.

You can’t blame fans for wanting to see Rosenbaum return to what may be his most famous role, and they have been hounding the actor for news on whether he would appear in “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”  It turns out that The CW did ask him to appear, but Rosenbaum didn’t like the deal that they offered.  As he tweeted:

As he wrote:

“Friends, many of you have tweeted and asked me about joining the Infinite crossover.  I can’t tell you how much this means to me. I’ll just be straight up about this. WB called my agents Friday afternoon when I was in Florida visiting my grandfather in a nursing home. Their offer: No script. No idea what I’m doing. No idea when I’m shooting. Basically no money. And the real kick in the ass: ‘We have to know now.’ My simple answer was ‘Pass.’ I think you can understand why. I hope this answers all of your questions.”

Reportedly, the script for this massive event hasn’t been finalized, because the creators are still trying to round up more guest stars.  But filming of these episodes is expected to begin in about a month, so things should be locked in soon.

But hey, CW, I’m pretty sure you can get Allison Mack for next to nothing.  Gotta make that bail money, honey!

Are you upset that Michael Rosenbaum won’t appear in “Crisis on Infinite Earths?”
