HBO’s smash hit ‘Game of Thrones’ had to miss San Diego Comic-Con last year due to being knee-deep in filming the final season and now the cast and crew will be taking the stage one last time. The panel will take place on Friday, July 19th, at 5:30 in Hall H. Leading cast members including Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, and Sophie Turner haven’t been confirmed, also not announced is franchise creator George R.R. Martin.
That being said, there are still quite a few notable faces who will be making an appearance such as Jacob Anderson, John Bradley, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Liam Cunningham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Iain Glen, Conleth Hill, Maisie Williams, and Isaac Hempstead Wright. Joining the King of the Six Kingdoms as well as the rest of these actors will be showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss who have been absent from SDCC since 2016. Rounding it out will be director and executive producer Miguel Sapochnik.

While some of the major actors involved in ‘Game of Thrones’ have yet to be confirmed it is always possible that a few of them were being held back as surprise appearances. It is also just as likely that they are busy with other work or could even be avoiding the convention due to the vocal backlash from some fans about how the final season of the series was handled.
HBO has a fully fleshed out SDCC appearance this year which also has panels for ‘Westworld,’ ‘Watchmen,’ and ‘His Dark Materials.’
