The Boys
Amazon Prime Video

Hmmm, Amazon Prime Video released a new trailer for Season 2 of ‘The Boys’ at CCXP, the Brazilian Comic-Con.  It was also available online briefly, but Amazon then pulled the clip.

This video is available thanks to a separate Youtube account, but I assume it’s the same.  Check it out.  (Oh, it’s kind of NSFW due to blood, gore, and a certain obscene hand gesture.):

Well, it looks as though Season 2 will be another bloody good time.  At the end of S1, most of The Boys were on the run, but Homelander (Antony Starr) took Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) to see his ex-wife, whom he believed was dead.  Instead, she is living a normal life with a child that she conceived with Homelander.  Speaking of Homelander, S1 also revealed that he was behind the sudden appearance of super terrorists in the Middle East, a bargaining tool of sorts to increase his own importance.

The trailer also gives another look at Mr. Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito), who will fill the void that has been left by the absence of Madelyn Stillwell (Elisabeth Shue), after she was… ahem, “fired” by Homelander.  And the clip also shows a cameo of Terror, Billy Butcher’s dog who has a larger role in the comic books.  Unfortunately, he will not factor heavily on the show (as EP Eric Kripke put it, “it’s so f—ing hard to work with animals”), but at least fans will get one appearance.

Season 2 will introduce Aya Cash as a new superhero, Stormfront, who, in the comics, is a white supremacist.  ‘Timeless’ vets Goran Višnjić and Claudia Doumit also join the cast, with Višnjić playing Alistair Adana, “the charismatic and shadowy leader of a mysterious church” and Doumit as Victoria Neuman, “a young wunderkind congresswoman.”  (Their ‘Timeless’ co-star Malcolm Barrett had a small role as Vought executive Seth Reed in S1 and is expected to return.)  Patton Oswalt will appear in a mystery role, but some believe he is playing the comic book character, The Legend, a writer hired to pen the comic books starring the members of The Seven to further sell them to the public as real heroes.

It hasn’t been announced when Season 2 will arrive, but it will most likely be in the summer.  Season 1 kicked off in July of this year.  Are you excited about another adventure with ‘The Boys’?
