A ‘Timeless’ couple is headed to Amazon’s hit superhero satire ‘The Boys’ which has been renewed for a second season. Goran Višnjić and Claudia Doumit, who are both coming off of the canceled NBC series ‘Timeless’, are joining the cast in recurring roles. They join fellow ‘Timeless’ alum Malcolm Barrett who already has a recurring role on ‘The Boys’. It just so happens that Eric Kripke created both shows, and is an executive producer on ‘The Boys’.
Višnjić, who played antagonist-turned-ally Garcia Flynn on ‘Timeless’, will take on the role of Alistair Adana, “the charismatic and shadowy leader of a mysterious church” on ‘The Boys’. (I don’t recall this character from the comics, so I think he is a new creation.) On ‘Timeless’, Doumit played computer ace, Jiya Marri. On ‘The Boys’, she will portray “a young wunderkind congresswoman” named Victoria Neuman. (Again, I think this is an original character.) Barrett’s character, Vought Marketing executive Seth Reed, who is… um… missing something due to… an encounter with a certain super being, is also expected to resurface in the second season.

Following the cancellation of ‘Timeless’, Višnjić filmed a role for Netflix’s ‘Santa Clarita Diet’, and the upcoming Hulu series ‘Dollface’. Doumit appeared in the recent dramedy ‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette?’. She will also co-star in the upcoming indie film ‘Dylan & Zoey’, which also stars… Malcolm Barrett.
‘The Boys’ stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, and Tomer Kapon, as the titular team of operatives whose job is keeping the world’s superhuman population in check. Chace Crawford, Dominique McElligott, Nathan Mitchell, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, and Jessie T. Usher star as some of those super beings. Elisabeth Shue co-starred in the first season but… uh, probably won’t be back in the second. It appears that her place in the story will be taken over by Giancarlo Esposito as Stan Edgar (who appeared in one episode of Season 1.) Aya Cash has been cast as the superhero Stormfront, who will debut in Season 2.
