There is a ton of Marvel Studios news coming out from San Diego Comic-Con 2019 and Tom Hiddleston has shared new details about the upcoming Disney+Loki‘ series! If you’ve somehow missed ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ you will want to miss this series as the show will directly tie-in to what we’ve seen in the movies. As the God of Mischief was killed off in ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ it is the version of the character who escaped his fate by stealing an Infinity Stone in the sequel who we’ll be following.

While not too many details popped up at Hall H where on the streaming shows we did get a few tidbits. Hiddleston took the stage and shared:

“Just about the last thing that happened to him was he got Hulk smashed. So there’s a lot of psychological evolution that is still yet to happen. Kevin has generously showed me what his plans are. It’s one of the most exciting creative opportunities I’ve come across. This is new territory, a new world, new challenges I can’t wait to get started.”

These details mean that this won’t be the Loki who has evolved through ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ or who sacrificed himself in ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ He is still the selfish God of Mischief who has yet to proclaim to be Loki Odinson when tried to take out Thanos with his dying breath in ‘Endgame.’

It’ll be a bit of regression but creates a ton of opportunity for mixing things up as we see him evolve in a different way. We’ve seen hints of time travel with this series and know that Loki will be in a different timeline, so this could easily end with either Loki returning his Infinity Stone to Captain America to fix the main timeline or potentially find a loophole to exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe once more.

Are you looking forward to watching ‘Loki’ on Disney+? Do you feel that we’ll see the character return in a future film as well? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
