"Crisis On Infinite Earths" 'Batwoman' Pics Show Three Supermen And Kevin Conroy As 'Kingdom Come' Batman
DC Comics

It would appear that Kevin Conroy‘s role in “Crisis on Infinite Earths” has been revealed and it is that of Bruce Wayne from the future.  There had been some speculation that he might be playing the aged Bruce from the ‘Batman Beyond’ timeline (since he voiced that character), but now it looks as though he’s actually playing the Batman from ‘Kingdom Come’.

Check out the first photo of Conroy from the ‘Batwoman’ episode of “Crisis” crossover below:

It’s hard to see, but he appears to be wearing an exoskeleton similar to the one Bruce wore in the comic.  It was assumed that it kept him mobile after he’d spent his whole life getting the crap kicked out of him by Killer Croc and the like.

Conroy’s appearance is pretty significant for two reasons.  First, it is the first time Conroy has ever appeared as Batman/Bruce Wayne in live-action, after having voiced the character in animation for almost 30 years, beginning with ‘Batman: The Animated Series‘.  Second, this is the first time Batman/Bruce Wayne has ever appeared in any form in the Arrowverse.  Wayne has barely been mentioned, and it wasn’t until last year’s “Elseworlds” crossover that the idea of a Batman existing in this reality was even fully acknowledged, and even then there was a debate over whether or not he was real or an urban legend.

As we’ve known for a while now, Brandon Routh, who played Superman/Clark Kent in ‘Superman Returns’, is portraying the Superman of ‘Kingdom Come’.  In that comic, Superman and Batman, once known as the World’s Finest team, were bitter enemies.  It should be interesting to see how their relationship plays out in the adaptation.

And as we know, there will be multiple Supermen in this crossover.  Tyler Hoechlin who plays the regular Superman of the Arrowverse is coming back (and might be setting up his own spinoff series), and Tom Welling, the star of ‘Smallville’, is reprising the role of that version of Clark Kent.  It does not appear that he will suit up as Superman.
