Are you ready for s’more ‘American Horror Story: 1984’? A new teaser trailer has emerged, which reinforces the time setting and the fact that this season pays tribute to slasher flicks of the era. However, oddly, the teaser doesn’t feature the show’s main cast, which has been the case with most of the other previously released clips. So this is likely not a clip from the actual show. Even so, the video features attractive teens (er, “teens”) gathered around a campfire having a great time and trying to scare one another. But what happens when something pops up that gives them a reason to really be terrified?
In case you weren’t already scared to gather around the campfire, the newest poster takes the sweetest part of the outdoors experience and takes it into the most horrifying direction. Like the previously released poster, this image looks like it would fit right at home on a VHS tape cover. As you can see, while the killer has previously been shown to wield a knife, it seems as though he (or she) is actually adept at all sorts of sharp, bladed implements, including an ax, as shown in the teaser, and a skewer.

As executive producer Tim Minear said back in May:
“I will tell you nothing, except that I think it’s awesome. I think it’s gonna be really scary but a lot of fun, like it always is. And that if you have a taste for ’80s horror, you’re in for a treat.”
The cast of ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ mixes ‘AHS’ vets like Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, John Carroll Lynch, and Emma Roberts– and newcomers– DeRon Horton, Gus Kenworthy, Matthew Morrison, Angelica Ross, and Zach Villa.
‘American Horror Story: 1984’ will slash its way back onto FX on Wednesday, September 18 at 10 pm EST.
