You Can Dream About The Cast Of American Horror Story: 1984

Posting a video on Instagram, Ryan Murphy has unveiled the cast of ‘American Horror Story: 1984’, and included is a familiar face (and a not-so-familiar other… um… appendage), Matthew Morrison, who previously starred on Murphy’s ‘Glee’.  This news comes a day after the revelation that ‘Pose’ star Angelica Ross was shifting from that FX hit to ‘AHS’ as well.

As previously revealed, Emma Roberts and Gus Kenworthy are also among the cast, and now we know that they will be joined by alumni Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, and John Carroll Lynch, and newcomers DeRon Horton (‘Dear White People’) and Zach Villa (‘Shameless’).

It looks as though most of the cast are playing camp counselors, which may not be a good thing, as ‘AHS: 1984’ is inspired by ’80s slasher flicks like ‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘Sleepaway Camp’.  Morrison appears to be a rather skeevy counselor, while Ross is the camp nurse.

Check out the video, set to Dan Hartman’s “I Can Dream About You,” for yourself below (NOTE: It is in multiple parts):

Morrison and Ross have obviously worked with Murphy before, but this will mark their first times on ‘American Horror Story’.  Gus Kenworthy is an Olympic skier, but he has acted (as himself) on ‘The Real O’Neals’, ‘Sharknado 5: Global Swarming‘, and ‘Olympic Dreams’.

Fern made his ‘AHS’ debut last year, playing the adult Michael Langdon in ‘Apocalypse’, but before that, he co-starred on Murphy’s ‘American Crime Story’.  Leslie Grossman played Meadow Wilton on ‘Cult’ and Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt on ‘Apocalypse’.  Lourd portrayed Winter Anderson on ‘Cult’, and Mallory on ‘Apocalypse’.  Before that, she appeared on Murphy’s ‘Scream Queens’.  Lynch may not be immediately recognizable in the video, but he was Twisty the Clown in ‘Freak Show’ and ‘Cult’, and John Wayne Gacy on the Halloween episode of ‘Hotel’.

As previously revealed, Evan Peters won’t appear, and Sarah Paulson may pop up in a small role or cameo, but won’t star.  Paulson has the lead in another Murphy project, ‘Ratched’ for Netflix and is currently filming the FX miniseries ‘Mrs. America’.

What do you think about the cast of ‘AHS: 1984’?  Totally tubular or grody to the max?

‘American Horror Story: 1984’ will premiere on FX on Wednesday, September 18 at 10 pm EST.
