‘American Horror Story: 1984’ is really embracing this ’80s retro vibe. The film is set at Camp Redwood, which finds itself besieged by a knife-wielding, masked killer. The various videos that have been released to tease the new episodes have been scored with pop songs from the era, and feature the cast dressed in the latest aerobics gear and short shorts they could find.
Now a new poster has been released and it also perfectly captures the style of movie posters and VHS box covers you could find at the Video Dome or where ever people rented VHS tapes before Blockbusters became commonplace.

Enjoy:
Like most of the previously released teaser clips, the poster doesn’t feature a recognizable member of the main cast. But whoever she is, she has great teeth!
This poster recreates the climax of the very first teaser clip which announced the title of the new season. It’s not exactly the same– the actress is different, for starters. But in case you missed it, here it is again:
The main cast of ‘1984’ is a mix of returning ‘AHS’ vets– Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, John Carroll Lynch, and Emma Roberts– and newcomers– DeRon Horton, Gus Kenworthy, Matthew Morrison, Angelica Ross, and Zach Villa. Following the massive cast of last season, ‘Apocalypse’, Ryan Murphy felt the need to clean the slate somewhat and refocus on a smaller cast with a few new faces. For the first time, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson are not appearing (that we know of).
Of course, Murphy likes to throw curveballs. So far, ‘1984’ looks to be a straight summer camp slasher flick from the ’80s, but nothing is ever what it seems. Expect some big twists when the season actually kicks off on September 18.
