It: Chapter One
Warner Bros.

If rewatching ‘It: Chapter One’ on Blu-Ray before ‘It: Chapter Two’ comes out isn’t good enough, you’re in luck.  The first film is returning to theaters for two nights AND it will include an eight-minute preview of ‘Chapter Two’.  These showings will be on Saturday, August 3rd and Tuesday, August 6th, courtesy of Fathom Events.  The eight-minute preview will come at the end.

Andy Muschietti directed both ‘Chapters’, taking Stephen King’s epic novel and splitting it into two stories.  ‘Chapter One’ was set in 1988 (moved up from 1958 in the book) and featured the unfortunate tweens who would come to refer to themselves as the Losers Club, and who turn out to be the only ones capable of stopping “It” a supernatural force that terrorizes their small town of Derry, Maine and returns every 27 years to feed off of the town’s fear.  Though “It” can take many forms, it most often manifests as Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgård).

‘Chapter Two’ will be set 27 years later, after most of the Losers have left their horrific hometown behind.  Due to the magic of “It,” they have forgotten the traumatic events of their youth, with the exception of Mike Hanlon, the sole Loser to have remained in Derry.  Reluctantly, the adult Losers must return to end the threat of “It” once and for all… at all costs.

‘Chapter One’ starred Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, Jaeden Martell (billed as Jaeden Lieberherr) as Bill Denbrough, Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Uris, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie Kaspbrak, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom, and Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon.  The film also featured Nicholas Hamilton as Henry Bowers, Jackson Robert Scott as George Denbrough, and Stephen Bogaert as Alvin Marsh.

Jessica Chastain stars as the adult Beverly in ‘Chapter Two’ with James McAvoy as Bill, Bill Hader as Richie, Andy Bean as Stanley, James Ransone as Eddie, Jay Ryan as Ben, and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike.  The sequel will also feature Jess Weixler, Will Beinbrink, and Teach Grant.
