Jessica Chastain It: Chapter Two

Jessica Chastain steps into the role of Beverly Marsh for ‘It: Chapter Two’, as the adult version of Sophia Lillis‘ character from ‘Chapter One’.  Possibly the goriest scene in the first movie was the one of Bev in her bathroom when blood comes gushing out of the sink and covers every inch of the room, including Bev herself.  The strange part, however, is that when her father enters, he doesn’t see the blood at all!  That was definitely one of the bloodiest… if not THE bloodiest scene in a movie ever.

Is it possible that ‘Chapter Two’ will actually top that?  It sounds that way!  Chastain appeared on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ and announced:

“I’m gonna say something and I think I’m gonna be in trouble but I’m gonna do it.  It might be a spoiler, but in the movie there’s a scene that someone said on set that it’s the most blood that’s ever been in a horror film in a scene… The next day I was pulling [fake] blood out of my eyeballs.”

Director Andy Muscietti posted a photo on Instagram with Chastain, presumably after she filmed the scene in question, but she had clearly cleaned up quite a bit.

Regarding ‘It: Chapter Two’, Chastain said, “It’s scary, man.  I love the scary stuff, but it’s more fun to be the scary person than the one getting scared.”

This is, of course, part two of the story of the Losers Club from Derry, Maine, a group of outcast teens who found themselves the only line of defense against the supernatural child killed Pennywise.  After they managed to seemingly destroy “It,” they went their separate ways, but years later, they find themselves drawn back to Derry as adults when this danger emerges anew.

Joining Chastain as Bev are Andy Bean as Stanley, Bill Hader as Richie, James McAvoy as Bill, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, James Ransone as Eddie, and Jay Ryan as Ben.  Lillis and her young costars will also be seen again in flashbacks.  Wyatt Oleff returns as Stanley, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie, and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben.  Bill Skarsgård returns as Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

‘It: Chapter Two’ will be unleashed on September 6.  Before that, Chastain will be seen in ‘Dark Phoenix’ on June 7.

Do you think they can top the bloodshed of ‘It: Chapter One’?
