Curran Walters Titans

It has been reported that Curran Walters has been bumped up to a series regular for the second season of DC Universe’s ‘Titans’.  Walters plays Jason Todd, the second Robin, who was recruited to replace Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) at Batman’s side.  He appeared in two episodes of ‘Titans’ Season One.

In one, he helped Dick Grayson solve the killings of Haley’s Circus performers.  In the other, he appeared in a dream sequence experienced by Dick, in which Batman (Steve Boyle) had gone on a killing spree.  In the last episode, Dove (Minka Kelly) tells Hawk (Alan Ritchson) that they need to find Jason Todd.  The reason why has not been revealed.

It’s unclear what his role on the series will be, as in the comics, Jason Todd was only a member of the Teen Titans for a short period– one story– before his death.  It’s possible the show is building him up in order to make his death more impactful, should ‘Titans’ follow that storyline.  Presently, the Titans already have a Robin, so they don’t need another one.

‘Titans’ Season One also starred Anna Diop as Koriand’r/Kory Anders/Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth/Raven, and Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan/Beast Boy, with Seamus Dever as Rachel’s demonic father Trigon and Conor Leslie as Donna Troy/Wonder Girl.  Season Two will introduce Esai Morales as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, while Chella Man will play his son Joseph/Jericho and Chelsea T. Zhang appears as his daughter Rose/Ravager.  Another new addition is Joshua Orpin who will portray Superboy.

‘Titans’ was the first original series offered on DC Universe.  It was renewed for a second season before it even premiered.

‘Titans’ Season Two is expected to be released on DC Universe this fall.  Outside of the US, the show is available on Netflix.  It is also expected to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray before the second season begins.
