Superboy appears on 'Titans'
DC Universe

Season 1 of ‘Titans’ ended with a post-credits scene that helped set up the events of Season 2, but so far, there hasn’t been a callback to that event.  During the post-credits scene, viewers got their first look at Project: Cadmus, a location readers of the comics, and watchers of ‘Young Justice’ know is the source of Superboy, a clone made of the DNA of Superman and Lex Luthor.  In that clip, viewers got a first look at Superboy, although he was mostly seen in silhouette (played by a body double, as Joshua Orpin hadn’t yet been cast).  The clip also introduced Krypto the Superdog.

But the next episode of ‘Titans’ is named “Conner,” so it can only be assumed that fans will learn all they need to about the TV version of that character.  Here is the synopsis for that episode:

Conner Kent escapes from Cadmus Labs and emerges into the world for the first time as a free agent. With Krypto in tow, Conner’s search for the truth about his past leads him to Lionel Luthor (guest star PETER MacNEILL), Lex Luthor’s father, and Cadmus geneticist Eve Watson (guest star GENEVIEVE ANGELSON). Eve informs Conner of his true heritage and sends him on a path of self-discovery, examining his own identity and inherent impulses. In a moment of question, Conner chooses to act heroically and finds himself face-to-face with the Titans.

Angelson‘s casting was previously announced, as was that of Natalie Gumede, who is playing Mercy Graves.  It is news that Lionel Luthor is appearing, as played by Peter MacNeill (‘The Good Witch’).  “Superboy” also features Raoul Bhaneja as Walter Hawn.  This appears to be a new character, not one drawn from the comics.

It’s unclear how big a role Lionel Luthor will have.  It’s possible ‘Titans’ will use him as a stand-in for his son Lex Luthor, who is currently in use on ‘Supergirl’, portrayed by Jon Cryer.
