Theo Von has been added to the cast of Chris McKay’s ‘Ghost Draft’. Chris Pratt fronts the cast, which also includes Betty Gilpin, J.K. Simmons, and Yvonne Strahovski. The screenplay was written by Zach Dean and Bill Dubuque. Pratt would play a husband and father who is “drafted to fight in a future war where the fate of humanity relies on his ability to confront his past.” McKay has worked almost solely in animation (‘The LEGO Batman Movie’, ‘Robot Chicken’), so this marks his first major live-action film.
Von is mainly a stand-up comedian and is currently on his sold-out Dark Arts Tour. Some shows will be postponed due to his casting in ‘Ghost Draft’. His “This Past Weekend” podcast received five million downloads a week. He recently filmed a pilot for Comedy Central called ‘Man Up’.
Pratt made his triumphant return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ‘Avengers: Endgame’. His voice will be heard the upcoming Disney/PIXAR animated movie ‘Onward’. He has a few projects coming up, but it doesn’t look as though any of them will be filming soon. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3’ won’t start production until director James Gunn finishes ‘The Suicide Squad’ for Warner Brothers and that hasn’t begun filming yet. He is also attached to return for another ‘Jurassic World’ movie, but there hasn’t been any word on when that may happen.

The third season of Gilpin’s Netflix series ‘GLOW’ was just released. She will appear in two upcoming movies in 2020, ‘Grudge’ a reboot of the horror franchise, and the comedy ‘Coffee & Kareem’ with Taraji P. Henson and Ed Helms. She also had a role in the controversial Blumhouse movie ‘The Hunt’ which was yanked from release following recent mass shootings.
Strahovski has been nominated for the Emmy and Golden Globe for her role on Hulu’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’. She appears in the upcoming thriller ‘Angel of Mine’ and is currently filming a new series, ABC’s ‘Stateless’.
Simmons recently made a surprising cameo in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ and co-starred on Hulu’s revival of ‘Veronica Mars’. He will be seen in the upcoming thriller ’21 Bridges’ with Chadwick Boseman, the indie ‘3 Days with Dad’, and his voice will be heard in the holiday animated film ‘Klaus’. He will also be heard on the upcoming adult animated series ‘Invincible’ which will be offered on Amazon.
