‘The LEGO Movie 2’ star Chris Pratt is teaming up with ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’s director Chris McKay for a new science fiction movie, ‘Ghost Draft’.  That is a working title and may change.  This project will be produced and financed by Skydance Media.  This film was written by Zach Dean, with the following logline:

A husband and father are drafted to fight a future war in which the fate of humanity may rely on his ability to correct issues of the past.

Pratt is presently between franchises, with Marvel Studios having to overhaul ‘Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3’ after firing writer/director James Gunn, and without a new ‘Jurassic World’ film in the immediate future.  His next planned sci-fi epic, ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ has been put back into development.  His next big screen appearance will be in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in April.  (Or will it?)  He can be heard in theaters now (times two) in ‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’.

Meanwhile, McKay was at work on a ‘Nightwing’ film for Warner Brothers, but that project appears to have been shelved for the time being, in anticipation of Matt Reeves‘ upcoming film ‘The Batman’, which will re-establish Batman in the studio’s film slate.  Speaking of Batman, there is a sequel to ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ in the works, but its current status is unknown.  McKay is also reportedly attached to direct a live-action film version of ‘Johnny Quest’ but that is also in an unknown state of development.  He is attached to direct an original film for Netflix, ‘Reborn’ with Sandra Bullock.

Skydance Media will deliver ‘6 Underground’ for Netflix later this year.  That action movie, directed by Michael Bay, starring Ryan Reynolds, is the most expensive Netflix original movie yet.

Obviously, ‘Ghost Draft’ is just getting off the ground, so check back for more updates as they become known.  But what do you think of Pratt and McKay working together?
