Did Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic World 3

Bryce Dallas Howard can currently be seen in the musical ‘Rocketman’, but while attending the film’s premiere, she was asked about ‘Jurassic World 3’, which hasn’t begun filming yet.  Specifically, Josh Horowitz from MTV News asked if rumors were true that the stars of ‘Jurassic Park’– Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum— would appear in ‘Jurassic World 3’.

Horowitz asked if she was excited about sharing scenes with “the OG Jurassic Park people,” to which she replied:

“Yes, very much so, IF that happens.  I don’t know what’s been confirmed or whatever, but I’ll blink if it’s happening (she immediately blinks) and maybe.”

Jeff Goldblum, who plays scientist Ian Malcolm, appeared in ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’, but didn’t interact with Howard’s character Claire Dearing, or Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady.

However, regarding Goldblum’s limited role and whether there were plans for Ian Malcolm to do more, screenwriter Colin Trevorrow (who directed the first ‘Jurassic World’) replied:

“We never did. It always felt really cheap to me. It always felt fake. It felt like a construct of screenwriters trying to figure out how to fit in a character they love. I have so much respect for those characters I just wouldn’t want them doing anything I don’t think they’d naturally do.”

Trevorrow also stated that he would “feel robbed” if Sam Neill and Laura Dern didn’t show up in ‘Jurassic World 3’ reprising their roles as Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler-Degler.  He went on to imply that Goldblum would not be back again, however.

“We felt like this was Malcolm’s return. This was his… let him have his moment. I feel that way about everyone, especially Laura [Dern], in that she never got to have her own movie. That identified as being something that’s important. I feel like this moment with Goldblum, because he had this very clear set of ethical questions that he was able to pose for everyone, we just wanted to put the spotlight on him.”

After the first film, Neill and Dern did not return for the sequel, ‘The Lost World’, leaving Ian Malcolm to lead the new cast.  Dern appeared in a cameo in ‘Jurassic World III’, but Neill’s Alan Grant once again served as one of the main characters.  It sounds as though Ellie Sattler-Degler could have a pretty hefty role in the next film, if things go according to plan.
