Marvel Monsters REALLY Want Lady Gaga To Voice Rocket Raccoon's Love Interest

Are Marvel fans a “Shallow” lot?  They are lobbying hard for James Gunn to cast Lady Gaga as the voice of Lylla, a sentient otter from the comic books who winds up being the love interest of Rocket Raccoon, who is voiced by Bradley Cooper in the movies.  This is after Film Updates posted a tease on Twitter that Gaga was under consideration, and that Lylla was “set to make an appearance” in Gunn’s upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3’.

Marvel fans have been pulling out their best otter and raccoon puns in a show of support for this suggestion, while others are just losing their minds at the prospect of the ‘Star is Born’ duo reteaming in another movie, even if it’s just their voices coming out of the mouths of CGI critters.

Cooper and Gaga co-starred in the romantic musical ‘A Star is Born’, but it was their off-screen chemistry that really raised eyebrows and got tongues wagging, due to the fact that both were in other romantic relationships.  Gaga was engaged to talent agent Christian Carino, and Cooper had been in a longtime relationship with model Irina Shayk, with whom he had a daughter.

But how else do you explain that smoldering performance of “Shallow” on the Academy Awards telecast?

But then…

…Gaga broke off her engagement right before the Oscars!  But, Shayk was on Cooper’s arm for the ceremony and was even captured on camera cheering (a little too enthusiastically) when “Shallow” won for Best Song from a Motion Picture and Gaga got up to accept the trophy.

Then, just weeks ago, Cooper and Shayk announced their split, and of course, the Braga (Gooper?) shippers wondered if Cooper would go running into the arms of Gaga.

To fuel the flames, Cooper recently hinted that he and Gaga would reunite to perform again at England’s massive Glastonbury Festival.  However, a representative has just squashed any hope of that, although ‘A Star is Born’ is set to be screened at one of the tents.  (Cooper appeared on stage at Glastonbury in 2017, in order to film part of ‘A Star is Born’.)

Gaga reportedly turned down the role of Black Canary in Warner Brothers’ ‘Birds of Prey’.  She was also reportedly being sought by Disney to star as Ursula in the live-action adaptation of ‘The Little Mermaid’.

Marvel has not confirmed when ‘Guardians 3′ will begin filming or be released, but Gunn will complete Warner Brothers’ ‘The Suicide Squad’ first, and that movie is due to begin filming in September for an August 6, 2021 release.

Would you like to see Lylla in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3’?  And if so, should her voice be provided by Lady Gaga?
