Dracula Is Bringing Sexy Back

After ‘Twilight,’ I know that many vampire fans want the last thing they want vampires being referred to is sexy. However, BBC is diving in with a ‘Dracula’ that will just as likely turn you on as he’ll turn you into dinner. I was hesitant at reading early descriptions of the trailer, but honestly, you should check this one out before pre-judging it.

The studio is using the creators of ‘Sherlock’ to deliver not just a Count that has the ability to seduce but one that will provide fans with plenty of terror as well. Claes Bang is portraying the central character in Bram Stoker’s iconic novel and is doing so in a way that almost feels to be playing tribute to the 1950s and 60s iteration of the character.

While fans love and hate Steven Moffatt and Mark Gatiss for their creations over the years, this one looks like we’ll be potentially in for a real treat.

You can check out the ‘Dracula’ BBC trailer right here:

I honestly turned this on thinking that I wasn’t going to be wanting to watch the actual series, and at least from the first trailer, I was wrong. We’ll see what happens when we get a more substantial trailer, which features the show, but this one looks like it could be a winner.

Joining Bang in the production will be “John Heffernan, Dolly Wells, Joanna Scanlan, Sacha Dhawan, Jonathan Aris, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.”

Of the new series, Moffat has shared:

“There’s lots of things that are challenging about Dracula. Having an evil lead character is actually really difficult. That’s been the main challenge I think. But how we’ve handled, that you’ll have to wait and see.”
