Welcome back once again to an all-new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! It’s finally April and spring is officially underway! The new season brings a new wave of toys and collectibles to the shelves of our favorite retailers and eventually into our collections. This week we have new items from Hot Toys, NECA, LEGO, Funko, and more! There are quite a few cool new things to check out in the Toy News for the week of April 2nd, 2019!
“SAY MY NAME!”
Warner Brother’s and DC Entertainment’s next big film ‘Shazam!’ is set to hit theaters this weekend! The film gives us the equivalent of “the movie ‘Big’ but with superheroes”, and it’s certainly an adventurous romp that is sure to light up the box office with a jolt of excitement! While full details are not yet available, this week the team at Hot Toys decided to make people even more hype for the upcoming film by releasing a teaser image of their upcoming 1:6 scale figure of the film’s titular hero, Shazam himself! We will be sure to keep you updated with more information as it becomes available.
Cuter, Smaller, Adorabler
This spring Marvel’s latest film, ‘Captain Marvel’, has dominated the box office hard, faster, and stronger than anything else released so far this year! Now Marvel’s newest heroine is coming to your toy collections as a part of Hot Toys adorably stylized Cosbaby figure line! There will be two collectors sets released for this series, one featuring an unmasked Captain Marvel with Goose the Cat (Flerkin) and another set with Masked Captain Marvel (with light up feature!) and a Movbi (which is an original series of stylized figures themed to their respective waves). Captain Marvel – Cosbaby (S) Bobble-Head
Captain Marvel is going to unleash her awesome powers in theatres very soon! Following the launch of the Captain Marvel Cosbaby collection, Hot Toys is delighted to further expand this Cosbaby series with brand new collectible sets featuring Captain Marvel, Goose and Movbi in a stylish way! Each Cosbaby Bobble-Head comes with unique Bobble-Head function and measures approximately 7 – 13.5cm tall. Ever since Goose the cat made an appearance in the movie posters, this playful character has drawn tremendous attention prior to the movie release.
