For anyone who missed the ‘DC Films: Dawn of the Justice League’ primetime special this week, DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns had a lot to say about the upcoming movies, especially in regards to what characters we will be seeing. Aside from confirming the line-up of the ‘Justice League’ so far (including The Flash, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman and Superman), Johns was also pushed by host Kevin Smith for one piece of juicy information they could close the special with, to which Johns responded in kind:
“We’ve been to these cities, we’ve been underwater, but there’s one place we haven’t been to: space. But now we are. So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps are coming to join the Justice League universe.”
And Kevin Smith, being the big kid he is, responded with:
“That’s every kids dream, to see all those Justice League characters together, Green Lantern is a big part.“
Check out the clip from the DC Special below with all of the Green Lantern artwork showing off Hal Jordan and John Stewart especially:
Of course, this might actually mean that there will be multiple Green Lanterns on the Justice League during the upcoming movie, which while a little strange, at the very least it is original. With rumors coming out earlier that the ‘Green Lantern Corps‘ movie would be more of a buddy-cop film starring Hal Jordan and John Stewart, it makes sense that they would not be focusing on just one Green Lantern, but having the whole corps show up in the ‘Justice League’ movies seems very bold, unless the threat the League will be facing warrants such a (for lack of a better word) army.
What are your thoughts on having so many Green Lanterns in ‘Justice League?’ Does it make them seem weaker that there are so many of them while there is only one Batman for instance? Share your opinions and theories on why the whole Corps will be needed in the comments below!
