mina-sundwallThe Netflix reboot of ‘Lost in Space‘ will have some feathers ruffled as all reboots do but that isn’t slowing down their casting progress as Mina Sundwall (‘Maggie’s Plan’,’#Horror’) was just tapped to play Penny Robinson on the show! To date, she’ll be joining Taylor Russell, Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Parker Posey, and Ignacio Serricchio who have already been cast in the series. While fans of the 1965 cult classic might not want to see a newer version released, the special effects and some of the acting might actually benefit from a fresh coat of paint. While Hollywood should probably be focusing on original content, this is one series which a revisit might not be a bad thing.

Set to be released in 2018, the reboot is going to once more follow the Robinson family from the original as they must come together while stranded far from where they had planned to be. They’ll have to overcome both an alien environment as well as personal problems to be able to survive and hopefully one day find their way back to civilization.

Netflix Originals VP Cindy Hollands had previously stated that:

“The original series so deftly captured both drama and comedy, and that made it very appealing to a broad audience. The current creative team’s reimagining of the series for Netflix is sure to appeal to both fans who fondly remember the original and to create a new generation of enthusiasts around the world.”

Honestly, if any network is going to do a reboot right I feel that Netflix is the one to do it. The studio has proven time and time again that not only can they deliver a solid streaming experience but they can create original content that will keep fans coming back for more.

Are you looking forward to the reboot of ‘Lost In Space’? If you’re familiar with Mina Sundwall do you feel that she’ll be perfect for the part of Penny Robinson? Share your thoughts below!
