Because it isn’t a new week without details on a reboot, we’ve got casting news from Netflix‘s upcoming ‘Lost in Space‘. We’ve just learned that the shoes of one of the leading roles, Judy Robinson, are being filled by Taylor Russell (‘Falling Skies‘,’Strange of Empire’.) Russell will be the third actress tackling this iconic role as Marta Kristen (‘Battle Beyond the Stars’,’Terminal Island’) played her in the original series while Heather Graham (‘Horns‘,’The Hangover’) tackled the part in the 1998 reboot film.

Yes, in case you missed it, this isn’t the first time that ‘Lost in Space’ is getting a fresh coat of paint with a new cast.

Russell has some great experience in genre work from her time on ‘Falling Skies’ and while I am always opposed to reboots it is good to know that they are at least picking some talent for this one as Zack Estrin (‘Prison Break’,’Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’) is on board as the showrunner with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (‘The Last Witch Hunter’,’Gods of Egypt’) tackling writing. Netflix has been putting out almost only top notch content to date so I am reluctantly going to give this one a shot as the studio that they’ve developed isn’t known to disappoint audiences.

No other casting has been announced at this time but fans of Netflix will surely have some great actors to look forward to. If it wasn’t for the series being on Netflix I wouldn’t be holding out much hope for this to capture my interest but now I’ll have to watch at least the pilot!
