Mister Krabs is heading to Central City as Clancy Brown himself has been cast as General Wade Eiling on ‘The Flash’. This comes on the heels of Wentworth Miller being cast as Captain Cold, Kelly Frye as Plastique and the news that producers are looking to cast Girder. (This is in addition to Weather Wizard being the antagonist in the pilot episode.)
Brown has long delved into comic related work, providing voices on ‘The Hulk And the Agents Of S.M.A.S.H.’, ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’, ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ and as mentioned, he voices ‘Spongebob Square-Pants” s boss.
Eiling will first appear in episode 5 of the upcoming super hero show. He will, at least in the beginning, appear in his normal human form. In the comics, Eiling eventually had his brain transplanted into the body of a Shaggy Man, the Bigfoot-like villains that plagued the Justice League for years. With Eiling’s brain inside, he shaved off the long hair that covered the creature and he went by the name of “The General.”
Eiling also has ties to Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad, both concepts that have already been established on ‘Arrow’.
Grant Gustin will headline the series as Barry Allen/The Flash, with Stephen Amell guest appearing as Oliver Queen/The Arrow and Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak. On a more permanent basis the cast will include Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett, Robbie Amell and John Wesley Shipp.
This series already has loads of buzz, spinning off from the successful series ‘Arrow’. The pilot episode has already been screened for some (and leaked online) and most have found it deserving of praise. The eighth episode will be a two-hour crossover with its parent series ‘Arrow’.
Are you looking forward to ‘The Flash’ on October 7th?
