Candice Patton plays Iris West on The CW’s upcoming ‘The Flash‘ series. She took time to reveal a bit about the show and specifically, her relationship with lead character Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin:
“Barry and Iris are childhood best friends. He has lived with Iris and her father since they were children when his father was accused and incarcerated for killing his mother. The two are incredibly close and she knows him like the back of her hand. I describe them as each other’s ‘true north’ in this crazy world.”
She added, “She believes in him even when others don’t. I think we all want someone like that. Someone who roots for us, and lightens our load in this life.”
And as hinted at in earlier clips, “When the show begins you see that Barry is discovering that he may have feelings for Iris that are more than just friends, but to what degree and how quickly that will be explored and even reciprocated by Iris in the series is something we all will have to wait and see.”
In addition, The CW has released a new behind the scenes featurette that highlights the show, with interviews with cast and crew, including producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns.
