Today I’m quite happy to have some behind the scenes footage from ‘The Strain‘ to share with you! This is a show I have been eagerly looking forward to with each trailer and teaser that has been released. There is so much potentially good shows and films coming out soon, it can be almost overwhelming. I am so excited about the show that if I have any concern for the series, it would be that the network would consider it to be a “high concept” which is a term often used to describe ‘Hannibal’. As much as I personally think ‘Hannibal’ is one of the best things on television, ratings don’t seem to agree with me. Still, FX is able to pull off great ratings with ‘American Horror Story‘ so I have high hopes we’ll have another hit on our hands.

This latest behind the scenes footage from ‘The Strain’ gives us a good look at the world that FX  will soon be showing us on screen. The clip has Guillermo del Toro lettng us know about his creation describing it as a combination of “particular make of lab, technical, driven sequences, with an almost gothic approach to science.” Corey Stoll chimes in that the show is “really epic, but starts off in the real world.”

If you are looking forward to the show, then check out the video below. It will take up two minutes that you won’t consider wasted:

The Strain“ is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

As a huge fan of seeing Stoll’s acting and just about anything del Toro touches. I was already looking forward to the series. This latest teaser has only upped the ante.

Do you think we’re about to get an amazing piece of horror that is grounded in reality and science from FX? Are you excited for del Toro’s latest creation to hit he small screen? Share your thoughts below!
