With ‘The After‘ finally having a pilot order we knew it was only a matter of time before we started to see a cast come together. Now we have 3 cast announcements to share with you! So whose been signed to star in the series so far? Jamie Kennedy (‘Scream 3’, ‘Ghost Whisperer’), Adrian Pasdar (‘Heroes‘, ‘Marvel’s Avengers Assemble’), and Aldis Hodge (‘Leverage’, ‘The Sixth Gun’).

Not only do we know three of the actors but we even have a brief description of their roles! Not knowing the exact plot details, these descriptions are extremely brief so there isn’t too much to go on, but here’s what we do know. We DO know that the original pitch indictated that ‘The After’ was a thriller set to take place right at the moment of a major apocalyptic event and deal with the fallout from it.

As for the casting? Kennedy is going to be playing a professional clown (who I can only hope is also a prepper or post apocalyptic aficionado that will somehow call back to his roll as Randy in the ‘Scream’ series). Pasdar will be playing a businessman from Beverly Hills and finally Hodge will be playing an innocent escaped convict.

So how are these main characters all going to tie together? Well it could be a view of how an apocalypse changes the lives of these three or, more likely ties these characters from multiple walks of life together. Unfortunately we can speculate until the cows come home, but until we get an official synopsis or see the pilot of the show, we won’t know that much. The good news, though, is Amazon often releases pilots for a show well in advance of the show itself as a teaser (or to get a viewer vote on if it should be made or not.) With Amazon having passed on ‘Zombieland‘ and post apocalyptic shows such as ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘Falling Skies’, and ‘Revolution‘ all doing well, it’s clearly a market that they are going to want to get into. Bring in one of the first major creators of modern science fiction shows that can have a darker twist, and it really feels like a no brainer.

I’d love to see the brilliant mind of Chris Carter (‘The X-Files’) bringing something amazing to the small screen again. Are you excited about what little we know about this show or do you think it’s still too early to get our hopes up?
