Earlier this month, a report came out saying that the roster of heroes in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie would include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. However, based on the latest news to hit the web, the core roster for the film has been cut down by two.

According to Latino Review, the team that will be featured in the upcoming 2015 DC super team flick will consist of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Flash. Previous reports stated that both Aquaman and Manhunter would have key roles in the film, but it’s possible that writer Will Beall may have made some adjustments since then. Sorry, Aquaman fans! You’re hero’s been harpooned to the second string.

However, there might still be a chance that the King of the Seven Seas will appear in the film briefly. The report also says that Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkman could cameo in the film. Of the three, it’s more likely for Martian Manhunter to get involved due to the cosmic villain that the Justice League will be facing in their first big screen adventure, but it’s possible that all three could still make appearances in some shape or form.

Aquaman is mad because his acting career is all washed up.

Currently, the film has not found a director or even received a green light from Warner Bros., so I’ve been taking each news tidbit with a grain of salt until an official word is released on the subject. WB is likely waiting to see if Zack Snyder’s ‘Man of Steel’ is received well by fans and critics before pushing forward with rolling out their whole roster of superheroes into a cinematic universe.

Regardless if this is official news or not, how do you feel about the cuts made to the Justice League? Are there any other team members that you wish were included in the core team? And when exactly did Hawkman enter the mix? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
