After coming off the success of ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ co-directors The Russo Brothers have taken a step back from Marvel Studios to work on a few of their own projects such as ‘Slugfest.’ Now the duo has expressed an interested in returning to the studio. However, their interest in coming back into the fold isn’t due to a blockbuster movie idea but rather from a recently announced Disney+ property – ‘Moon Knight.’

Marc Spector is a CIA agent who became a successful mercenary that earned him millions of dollars. After nearly being killed on a mission by a former friend, he ended up at the tomb of the Egyptian moon god Konshu who resurrected him as his avatar. Only, this resurrection damaged Spector and gave him a multiple personality disorder which led him into becoming the hero Moon Knight.

The news comes from Joe Russo who shared that the two love the idea of ‘Moon Knight’:

“Moon Knight would be fun. It’s hard to say because we’re in the middle of ‘Cherry’ right now. We’re on location in Cleveland shooting at the moment. But anything Marvel does is going to be special. And we’ve had such an amazing working relationship with them that I’m sure we’re all gonna find something to come back together.”

The two rockstar directors have always made it clear that they would be happy to work with Marvel again at some point, and this could be the perfect property for the duo to adapt. Not only does it take away from the high stakes that would come after ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to work with the studio again, but it would give them a buffer between films and still get fans excited about what they’re up to.

It should be noted that this is actually the third property that the Russos have expressed an interest in after previously sharing that they are huge fans of both the “Secret Wars” storyline and the ‘Fantastic Four.’
