“Welcome to the end,” Dean (Jensen Ackles) announces in the new trailer for the 15th and final season of ‘Supernatural’, which was fittingly released on “Supernatural Day”– presumably the last– which happens to be on Friday the 13th, AND on the night of a full moon!  In addition to the Season 15 trailer, The CW has also unveiled a new poster.

Expect this season to be like a Greatest Hits tour, as the new trailer has revealed that all of the souls that Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) have sent to Hell over the last 15 years are back– thanks to Chuck (Rob Benedict) at the close of last season– and you can bet they hold grudges.  The trailer offers a tease of “The Woman in White” (Sarah Shahi) and John Wayne Gacy’s Pogo the Clown.  The Woman in White was the first threat that the Winchesters banished in the pilot episode.

“You and me versus every soul in hell? I like those odds.” Dean quips.  Separately, Sam utters, “If we win this, we’re free.”

Previously, Ackles remarked:

“I think it’s quality.  It’s quality over quantity, and if we can deliver something heartfelt and meaningful, I think the audience is going to appreciate that more than bigger explosions or more stunt casting. I really think it’s about the depth of the story, the depth of the characters, and how those things marry up.”

Padalecki added:

“I feel like Sam and Dean find some version of peace.  Whether or not that’s alive or dead, or if Amara possesses me or whatever the situation is, I feel like they find more peace than when the season starts.”

Co-showrunner Andrew Dabb discussed the show’s ending, saying:

“You don’t want to leave people feeling hollow. You don’t want to leave people feeling cynical.  That doesn’t mean the ending is always happy and everybody high-fiving, but it means that the journey was worth something and came to a place that makes everyone feel it was, again, worth kind of taking that trip.”

The final road trip begins on October 10, at 8pm EST on The CW.
