‘Powers’ has traveled a long and winding road to get to television. After failing to be adapted into a film, FX picked it up as a series and shot a pilot in 2011 starring Jason Patric and Lucy Punch. However, after undergoing many reshoots and recasting and sitting on the shelf for some time after that, the show based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s super-powered cop drama looked like it was dead in the water. That is, until Sony announced in July that it was bringing the series to the Playstation Network as its first bit of original programming. Fast forward to this year’s New York Comic Con and we got our first look at the show and its stars Sharlto Copley and Susan Heyward as Detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim thanks to the first trailer. Now, we get to meet some of the other familiar faces that we’ll be seeing once the show hits your console next year.

At NYCC, a few members of the ‘Powers’ cast including Noah Taylor, Olesya Rulin, and Eddie Izzard joined Bendis, Oeming, and Heyward to present our first look at the highly anticipated show. However, we didn’t really get a good look at anyone other than the leads. But now thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we can check out the live action versions of Johnny Royalle, Calista, Big Bad Wolfe, and ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ and ‘The Killing’ star Michelle Forbes as Power Girl:

Now that the promotion for the show is ramping up, hopefully we’ll get a release date for the show soon. What we do know is that showrunner Charlie Huston wrote the first episode, which was directed by David Slade of ’30 Days of Night’ and ‘Hannibal.’ So while we’re sure to get more stills, teasers, and the like sooner rather than later, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on ‘Powers’ as more news emerges.
