Showrunner Damon Lindelof wants to know how we feel about heroes as ‘Watchmen’ gives us another take on exploring what they mean to society and how the concept can be twisted and reimagined. We know that the upcoming HBO series is set as a future to what the graphic novel originally explored and now he and the cast are opening up as to what they have in store for us. The featurette not only lets the cast drop hints as what they hope to accomplish while entertaining us, but we’re also treated to new footage from the show as well!

I feel that one of the best comments by Lindelof here is that for newcomers, it will be okay if they haven’t read the graphic novel or seen the film adaptation. While I’m sure that anyone here who is interested in the show has experienced the story in at least one of these mediums, that won’t be true for much of HBO’s audience.

What did you think of this featurette for HBO’s ‘Watchmen’? Are you curious how having the police force also masked will factor into the upcoming story? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

From Damon Lindelof and set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, this drama series embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own. The cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk. Watchmen is based on the graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and published by DC.
