Arya is best known for playing Flash on AMC’s ‘Humans’ and she will be seen in the upcoming British miniseries ‘Sticks and Stones’ and in Paul Feig’s upcoming ensemble movie ‘Last Christmas’, with Emma Thompson, Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding, and Michelle Yeoh.

On ‘The Umbrella Academy’, Arya will portray Lila, “a chameleon who can be as brilliant or as clinically insane as the situation requires. Unpredictable, mischievous and sarcastic, Lila’s gifted with a twisted sense of humor.”

Gatewood portrayed Vincent Griffith on The CW’s ‘The Originals’, and Famine in the recent Amazon Prime Video miniseries ‘Good Omens’.  On ‘The Umbrella Academy’, he will play Raymond, “a born leader with the smarts, gravitas, and the confidence to never have to prove it to anyone. He is warm, dedicated and has the innate ability to disarm you with a look. A devoted husband, he’s the kind of guy everyone wants to know.”

Ireland was most recently seen as Julia Bowman on the Amazon series ‘Sneaky Pete’.  She will be seen next year in the horror movies ‘The Empty Man’, and ‘The Dark and the Wicked’.  She will also appear in the pilot for FX’s ‘Y’ based on the DC/Vertigo comic book ‘Y: The Last Man’.

As for her role on ‘The Umbrella Academy’, Ireland will portray Sissy, “a fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons. Still in her prime, she’s eager to rediscover what life and love have to offer.”

The Netflix series is based on the Dark Horse comic books by writer Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá.  They chronicle the exploits of a group of young superbeings who were all miraculously born on the same day to women who were not previously pregnant.  Eccentric millionaire Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) managed to adopt seven of them, who he trained to become crime fighters.

The first season of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ starred Tom Hopper as Luther/#1/Spaceboy, David Castañeda as Diego/#2/The Kraken, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison/#3/The Rumor, Robert Sheehan as Klaus/#4/The Séance, Aidan Gallagher as #5/The Boy, Justin H. Min as Ben/#6/The Horror, and Ellen Page as Vanya/#7/The White Violin.  The show also stars Mary J. Blige, Cameron Britton, John Magaro, Adam Godley, and Colm Feore, with Sheila McCarthy, Jordan Claire Robbins, and Kate Walsh.

Season One of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ was the #1 digital series when it was released in February of this year, so it’s no surprise that Netflix renewed it for a second outing.  At this point, however, it is unknown when that batch of episodes will be released.

Are you looking forward to another adventure with this bizarre family of superbeings?
