We’ve been waiting to see a non-teaser for ‘American Horror Story: 1984‘ and FX has just released the official trailer! “You’re all gonna die” as you check out this first full look at the ninth season of Ryan Murphy‘s ongoing horror anthology series. In recent seasons we’ve learned that each of the story arcs are related to one another in recent years, and now it looks as if Murphy might be departing from those hidden connections.

Only time will tell if this ends up being part of a larger narrative or not but the initial promo material doesn’t seem to tie it to the events of ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ in any meaningful way. However, that doesn’t mean it won’t have a huge twist by the final episode.

You can check out the first official ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ trailer right here!

We’ve known from the preview hype that the show would be heading into the slasher period of the 1980s and it looks like Murphy will be delivering on what has been teased. In a love letter to the ‘Friday the 13th’ series, we’re getting camp counselors trying to survive an attack on a remote camp set on a lake.

While some of the larger names from the franchise won’t be appearing in this outing, you will recognize some familiar faces in Emma Roberts, Leslie Grossman, Cody Fern, John Carroll Lynch, and Billie Lourd. Also joining the cast in this outing will be Matthew Morrison, Angelica Ross, DeRon Horton, and Gus Kenworthy. Unless they are showing up as surprise cameos we won’t see a return of longstanding cast members Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters in ‘American Horror Story: 1984.’
