This year’s D23 has been full of new details of the “Star Wars” franchise and one of the fun little nuggets which emerged was the poster for ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker.’ It won’t draw you in quite as much as the first trailer nor deliver the emotional gutpunch that this will be where “The story of a generation comes to an end” as the D23 teaser did but most fans should love this work of art!

A quick glance shows us Rey squaring off against Kylo Ren, both with lightsabers drawn and ready to strike. Pausing here and you see that there appears to be Force Lightning coming from each of the sabers and into the air above them revealing none other than Emperor Palpatine himself smiling down upon them! I love that you can just make out his smile among the stars.

It still isn’t clear if Palpatine will be back in a new body, a clone, or just as a Sith Force Ghost. What I’m sure we’re all eager to see is what his return will mean for both what is left of The Resistance and The First Order.

While we still won’t know what direction the film will take, the actors are excited with Anthony Daniels chiming in that “What an ending. I can’t wait for you to share what we have all been doing all these months under J.J.” With the actor previously feeling that C-3PO has been “slightly sidelined” in the recent “Star Wars” movies and the latest teaser showing him with glowing red eyes you can’t wonder how he’ll be
