Zombie Tidal Wave

The Sharknados have come and gone but a new threat to Syfy lurks on the horizon with ‘Zombie Tidal Wave.’ When the first ‘Sharknado’ struck the channel in all its B-Movie glory, no one had any idea that it would spawn not only a franchise of films but has now inspired another natural disaster horror mashup to take its place! In fact, we’ll be seeing some familiar faces with director Anthony C. Ferrante behind the camera and Ian Ziering returning in front of it!

When talking about the concept for the film, Ziering shared:

“Zombie Tidal Wave offered the opportunity to see my original concept through to release, it is incredibly satisfying to be a creator and work in all facets of the process beyond my contributions as an actor. Darby and I want to continue to curate more projects together in this hands-on manner, and I can’t wait to bring more of my acting and directing peers, and new production partners, along with us.”

I’m sure that this will be just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to natural disaster and horror trope’s being mixed together for B-Movie fun for years to come!

Instead of sharing a synopsis, the trailer just asks, “Do we need to sell it beyond that?” However, the original press release did reveal that we’ll follow  Ziering’s character, Hunter Shaw, as he “contends with the ocean-borne outbreak which threatens his seaside island community.” This should be fun.

The made for TV film will make the “move from the fantastic world of shark-slinging tornadoes to one where zombie-slinging tsunamis offer a special brand of maritime mayhem, going from bad to worse when they make landfall.”
