Zombieland: Double Tap
Columbia Pictures/Sony

This fall join Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson, Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg, Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin, and Academy Award winner Emma Stone… as they slay zombies!  The first trailer for ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ is here and kicks off with a hilariously straight-faced intro, complete with those superlative introductions and a dramatic image of Breslin’s hand brushing across dried wheat in a field.

But soon we get caught up with Tallahassee, Columbus, Little Rock, and Witchita as they settle down into the most impressive domicile imaginable.  (It puts Bill Murray’s Beverly Hills mansion to shame.)  But very soon, the subtitle of this movie, ‘Double Tap’ begins to make more sense, as this zombie-slaying crew discovers that they aren’t the only ones still swinging in this apocalypse.

Meet Rosario Dawson as Nevada, Zoey Deutch as Madison, Avan Jogia as Berkley, plus Thomas Middleditch and Luke Wilson as two survivors that seem more than a little familiar.

‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ was directed by Ruben Fleischer, who helmed the first movie, which was released with little fanfare in 2009.  Once ‘Zombieland’ hit cable and DVD, it developed a cult following, so now 10 years later, the original crew has gotten back together to craft a follow-up.  Original writers Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick returned to pen the sequel’s script, along with Dave Callaham.

Though the first movie is packed with laughs, it hits its apex with a guest appearance by Bill Murray as himself.  Unfortunately, that sequence doesn’t go well, but it seems that somehow, Murray will return for another cameo in ‘Double Tap’ and this time he’s bringing his ‘Ghostbusters’ teammate Dan Aykroyd with him.

‘Zombieland 2: Double Tap’ arrives in time for Halloween, opening on October 11.  Are you ready to see this newly expanded army take on an army of the dead?
