Samuel L. Jackson Shares His Belief That The MCU Still Needs 'Avengers' Movies

Following the destiny-fulfilling events of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ a big question on the minds of fans of the MCU is: where does the franchise go from here? Are they finished with ‘Avengers’ films? Do they focus on solo outings like ‘Doctor Strange 2,’ the ‘Black Widow‘ movie, ‘Black Panther 2,’ and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home?’ Do they build a new team out of cosmic characters like the ‘Eternals,’ ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy,’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ to take the place of the ‘Avengers?’ Not much has been revealed just yet, with Kevin Feige stating that not much WILL be revealed until after ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’ hits theaters.

But for now, the man who helped bring the Avengers together, and who is also starring in the upcoming ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’ film as he gathers a new group of heroes to fight the threat of the Elementals, Nick Fury (aka Samuel L. Jackson), weighs in with his thoughts on the future of the MCU, and why they will still need to make ‘Avengers’ movies.

On top of sharing his thoughts on ‘Avengers’ movies, Jackson is also hinting pretty broadly about some other tidbits in the post – ‘End Game’ MCU, including the effects of the newly reveals multi-verse, and how big an impact that 5-year time jump is going to have on the films moving forward, even making some odd statements about whether the time jump was forward or backward, though I doubt that could actually be what happened in-universe.

For now, I would agree with Jackson that there will always be a need for the big team-up movies, especially to get fans excited and really pay off the extended universe they are building. After the massive success of ‘Avengers: End Game,’ I really doubt that Disney and Marvel would stop want to stop their (arguably) most successful franchise in the MCU.

What are your thoughts on the matter? When do you think we will see another ‘Avengers’ movie? Who would be in the roster? Do you have any theories on the new multiverse or what the 5 year time jump could mean for future movies? Feel free to share your theories and opinions in the comments below!
