While the teasers are heavily pitching the idea that Mysterio is from an alternate Earth and became stranded on ours with these elemental creatures after Thanos snap broke reality, comic fans will be hard pressed to buy into this theory. We know Mysterio is evil and a master of illusions, and it is hard to imagine him ending up as a hero. Of course, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was happy to throw us a curve ball by making The Skrulls into the good guys in ‘Captain Marvel’ so feasibly anything is possible.

Are you enjoying watching the relationship grow between Spider-Man and Mysterio in all of the early ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ previews? Will Jake Gyllenhaal actually be a villain or will he evolve into one throughout the film? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ will be swinging into your local theater on July 5th, 2019!
