Spider-Man: Far From Home

SPOILER ALERT: This contains information that could be considered SPOILERS for ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ so proceed with caution.

In the comics, the Avengers have welcomed some sketchy members– former Iron Man villains Hawkeye and Black Widow, former members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, The Vision, who was crafted by Ultron to kill them– and it looks as though the films are about to follow suit, starting with ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’.  But unlike in those other cases, something tells me this one isn’t going to work out for the best.

With Thor “off-world,” Doctor Strange “not available,” and Captain Marvel… er, off-limits, it seems, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) needs a new team, and what he’s got available is Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and transdimensional visitor Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).  And with Molten Man and Hydroman tearing up Europe, Fury will take what he can get.

As Gyllenhaal’s Quentin Beck explains, these two “Elementals” destroyed his homeworld, and thanks to the finger snap (presumably Iron Man’s, but at this point, it could be any of the three), a hole was torn in the fabric of reality, allowing them to pass into the main (616) MCU.

Check out this new trailer for ‘Far From Home’ from China, which explains the warping of reality and shows this ragtag Avengers duo.

With ‘Far From Home’ opening next week in China, it makes sense that they are getting a little bit more promotion than we are here in the US.

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the
Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation.
However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Director Jon Watts returns for the sequel.  In addition to Holland, Gyllenhaal, Favreau, Jackson, and Zendaya, the cast includes Numan Acar, Jacob Batalon, Remy Hii, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, J.B. Smoove, Cobie Smulders, Martin Starr, and Marisa Tomei.
