Unlike most previous castings, there is actually a little bit known about the episode in which O’Dowd will star.  It is entitled “The Blue Scorpion,” and appears to be an original story, not an adaptation of an episode of the original series.  The episode was written by executive producer Glen Morgan, who previously wrote and executive produced ‘The X-Files’.  O’Down will costar with Amy Landecker (‘Transparent’).

O’Down currently stars on Epix’s ‘Get Shorty’ with Ray Romano, and will also headline the upcoming series ‘State of the Union’ with Rosamund Pike, on the Sundance Channel.  Last year, he was seen in the films ‘Juliet, Naked’ and ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’, while he lent his voice to Disney’s ‘Mary Poppins Returns’.  He may also be recognized for ‘Bridesmaids’, ‘Girls’, ‘The IT Crowd’, ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’, ‘Molly’s Game’, ‘Moone Boy’, ‘Of Mice and Men’, and ‘Thor: The Dark World ‘.

His costar, Landecker is best known for starring on Amazon’s ‘Transparent’, but has also appeared in ‘Snatchers’, ‘LA to Vegas’, ‘Louie’, ‘The Paul Reiser Show’, and ‘Revenge’.  Her voice can be heard on Netflix’s animated series ‘Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia’.  Landecker recently completed the pilot for ‘High Life’.

‘The Twilight Zone’ will premiere on CBS All Access on April 1, with new episodes arriving each Thursday after that.
