Titans

If you live in the US and haven’t sprung for the DC Universe subscription, you can now catch up on the streaming service’s inaugural live-action series, ‘Titans’.  All eleven episodes of the first season are now available through digital retailers and come with a ton of extras.

First, the episodes are:

  1. “Titans”
  2. “Hawk and Dove”
  3. “Origins”
  4. “Doom Patrol”
  5. “Together”
  6. “Jason Todd”
  7. “The Asylum”
  8. “Donna Troy”
  9. “Hank and Dawn”
  10. “Koriand’r”
  11. “Dick Grayson”

‘Titans’ is executive produced by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, Greg Walker, Sarah Schechter, and John Fawcett.  It focuses on Robin/Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), Starfire/Koriand’r/Kory Anders (Anna Diop), Raven/Rachel Roth (Teagan Croft), and Beast Boy/Garfield Logan (Ryan Potter).  The first season also featured Seamus Dever as Trigon, Minka Kelly as Dove/Dawn Granger/Dove, Alan Ritchson as Hawk/Hank Hall, Curran Walters as Jason Todd, and Conor Leslie as Wonder Girl/Donna Troy.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of Season 1 was Episode 4, “Doom Patrol” which introduced Gar Logan’s kooky super family, who were so delightful that DC Universe ordered a separate spin-off featuring them, which is DC Universe’s second live-action series and is currently streaming.

This digital release also includes over 40 minutes of bonus features:

  • Raven and Robin Dark Rebirth (new featurette)
  • The Story of Titans
  • The Characters of Titans
  • The Making of Titans
  • Dick Grayson’s and Rachel Roth’s Dark Past
  • A look at vigilantes Hawk and Dove
  • The identity of Titans Kory Anders/Starfire
  • Gar Logan’s Journey
  • Rachel’s Powers
  • The Doom Patrol meets the Titans
  • Jason Todd’s Robin
  • From Comic to Live Action Adventure
  • Meet Wonder Girl
  • Dick Grayson’s Dark Past
  • World of Superheroes and Vigilantes

DC Universe ordered a second season of ‘Titans’ before the first episode was even released, so they have a lot of confidence in this series, but it’s unclear when that will be released.  But, the eventual DVD and Blu-Ray releases are said to be due before that.

Apparently, this is what the cover will look like:

Outside of the US, ‘Titans’ is available on Netflix.

The full-season digital release is now available for pre-orders and will be released on March 21, 2019.  The MSRP is $24.99.
