Titans

On DC Universe’s ‘Titans’, the team has just been brought together, but are they about to be torn apart?  In this trailer for Episode 7, “Asylum,” enemy forces capture and torture Robin, Beast Boy and Starfire.  Meanwhile, Raven is confronted by Dr. Adamson (Reed Birney) and learns that her birth mother (named Arella in the comics) is still alive and looks to be imprisoned in this same mental institution.  She — and viewers — may actually also learn the truth about her father.  In the comics, he is demon lord Trigon.  It’s possible that the show will follow that, but expect there to be some changes.  It is believed that when he finally does appear on ‘Titans’, he will be portrayed by Seamus Dever.

Trigon doesn’t appear, but you can still check out the trailer below:

“Asylum” will be the seventh episode, leaving only five more after that.  Raven (Teagan Croft) and Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) have been the main focus of the program so far, so it’s likely that the rest of the season will be devoted to resolving the mystery of Raven’s true nature.  Although there is a second season on the way, so not all answers may arrive in this one.

Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

Anna Diop costars as Starfire/Kory Anders, while Ryan Potter portrays Beast Boy/Garfield Logan.

New episodes of ‘Titans’ are available each Friday on DC Universe.
