captain marvel sailor moon brie larson

Brie Larson is Marvel’s newest superhero, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her own role models! The ‘Captain Marvel’ star recently revealed some of the women she looks up to, and her answer is nothing short of awesome.

In a recent interview with Buzzfeed for ‘Captain Marvel,’ Larson was asked about her role models. While part of her answer was something most of us could relate to, the other part was a little quirkier! Check out her answer in the video below!

In response to the question, Larson said:

‘My real-life role model is my mom, for sure. I loved the Spice Girls… I loved Sailor Moon. I’d come home from school just to try and not miss a second of ‘Sailor Moon.’”

While I can definitely get behind idolizing Usagi and the rest of the Sailor Scouts, Larson is a superheroine in her own right! In a recent interview, Larson explained that she trained for over a year in preparation for her turn as Captain Marvel.

In a separate interview, Larson explained her process to prepare for the film, saying:

“I watched ‘Star Wars.’ And trained for this. Six months heavy training, then three months with stuntmen. I did everything, including skydiving. Professionals set it all up, but I did it. There’s me upside down before I break myself away from the aliens. And scenes where I’m roped military-style 50-feet in the air and get free. Although the film’s now coming out, I’ve worked on it a year and a half.”

Check out Larson in ‘Captain Marvel,’ now in theaters! Other MCU films coming up include ‘Avengers: Endgame’ on April 26th and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ on July 5th.
