At the extraordinary age of 95-years-old, the spectacular Stan Lee has sadly passed from this world. He lived an amazing life, and his friends and family honored his wishes and held a private funeral for the icon. The world has been mourning his loss but also celebrating his life since Lee’s death.

With fans the world over still wanting to give their respects to the great man, POW! Entertainment has created an online Memorial Wall over at TheRealStanLee.com and is putting together a larger tribute as well. We all know how important the fans were to Stan.

Here is the official statement from the company which Stan Lee built after leaving Marvel Entertainment:

As we all continue to process our feelings of loss at the passing of a true legend, many are asking if there will be a memorial in Stan’s honor. Stan was always adamant that he did not want a large public funeral, and as such his family has conducted a private closed ceremony in accordance with his final wishes. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with them.

We at Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment are working on putting together a tribute befitting the greatest creator of our time and the father of modern pop culture. The grandeur of Stan makes this a monumental task, and we hope to have more info in the days to come. In the meantime, we understand and share your desire to commune with fellow fans, and we have set up a memory wall on therealstanlee.com where we can all share our thoughts, prayers, and messages of support. Additionally, over the next several days we will be sharing messages from fellow creators, artists, and colleagues of Stan’s across his Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. We look forward to joining all of Stan’s fans in celebrating his extraordinary life and legacy.

We’ve already seen many who have known and worked with the great man share their thoughts about him from Sam Raimi to Todd McFarlane, and it feels great to know that the celebration of this creator’s life is going to continue for the foreseeable future. It is also great to know that we haven’t seen the last of his creative genius either as he created one last character with his daughter before passing and still will have a cameo in ‘Avengers 4‘ and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘.
