Stan Lee

Before the world tragically lost the creative genius of 95-year-old Stan Lee it seems he was still actively creating new ideas. His final creation was with his daughter J.C. Lee where the pair had created a new hero who goes by the name Dirt Man. With Lee’s first truly iconic creation being Spider-Man, it should come as no surprise that we’ll see his last have a simple yet offbeat name as well.

J.C. initially pitched the idea, but she and Stan were working on developing him up until his last weekend on Earth. According to Lee, “I’ve been trying to get him to create a character with me his entire life. We’ve been working on a character called Dirt Man.” It sounds like this will be part of the legacy that J.C. wants to have for her father and that “the last little angel we’ve got tucked away is Dirt Man and I said ‘Daddy, no clatter, no steel, no any of that,'” said Lee. “‘Let’s get down and dirty. Let’s do what’s going on and what’s about love. Let’s do Dirt Man.’ It’s very interesting, and it’s not over yet. We still have a little trickery.”

While there isn’t an exact release date for the character, she “hoped” it would get to the point where he could get a feature film made about him.

As to how else Stan’s daughter plans on continuing her father’s legacy, she is helping launch the Stan Lee Childhood Literacy Foundation. According to J.C.:

“We’re creating the Stan Lee Childhood Literacy Foundation. The importance of the written word and in the importance reading is to not be underestimated. One reason why Stan is ‘Stan the Man’ is he took his craft very seriously.”

Losing Stan Lee is a loss to us all but with POW! Entertainment and now J.C. Lee helping to continue on his legacy, it’ll be exciting to see which of Stan’s creations still end up seeing the light of day.
