Gotham

They say some villains have daddy issues so it should come as no surprise that the father of a supervillain set to be introduced in the fifth and final season of ‘Gotham’ will be Bane’s dad. We’ve seen a slew of Batman’s rogue gallery introduced in the series throughout the years and now are getting an interesting prelude to one of them if this is true.

The news came forward as the series has issued a casting call for an actor to play Eduardo Dorrance. They are looking for a man of any ethnicity in his mid-30s to early 40s. He is scheduled to be a recurring guest star and is being described as:

… being really well fit, Eduardo has been a warrior for quite some time now, as he has the commitment of a tireless soldier to follow every kind of order he is given. He is intolerant to betrayal, hence his full loyalty to his fellow soldiers. Whoever plays Eduardo would appear in episode 5 (filming 9/7 -9/19), episode 6 (filming 9/19 – 10-1), episode 8 (filming 10/12 – 10/24), and episode 9 (filming 10/20 – 11/5).

In the comics, Edmund Dorrance was part of an Asian street gang titled the Ghost Dragons and went by the name of King Snake. During his time in Santa Prisca, he would sleep with a female rebel who eventually gave birth to Bane while being held in prison for Dorrance’s crimes against the state.

In the comics, the villain would grow up in prison though it isn’t clear how that will play out on screen.

Do you have any reason to be excited about ‘Gotham’ introducing the father of ‘Bane’ in the fifth season of the show? Will this also give us a shot at the villain who enjoys breaking Batman in his youth and show him not spending his life in prison? Share your thoughts below!
