Netflix likely has a hit on their hands in their episodic adaptation of ‘The Witcher‘ and the ‘Man of Steel’ actor himself, Henry Cavill (‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’,’The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’) wants to throw his name into the ring to play the leading character. It turns out that the actor just recently completed playing ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ and has been a fan of the fantasy series for quite some time. Not only did Cavill love the trilogy of games by CD Projekt Red but also read the original book series which was penned by Andrzej Sapkowski that inspired the games.
Finding this out of course ended up with the actor being asked if he’d want to play Geralt on film and Cavill quickly stated “absolutely” and “that would be an amazing role.”
At this time, Netflix has not revealed that Geralt has been cast so the role could still be open. As Geralt tends not to show emotions and is in great shape, Cavill can portray a mostly emotionless character who is in prime physical condition as seen in both ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Justice League.’
Would you be open to seeing Henry Cavill play Geralt on Netflix’s take on ‘The Witcher’? Do you think that the actor would be a great choice with his familiarity with the source material? If you could pick any actor to play Geralt, who would it end up being? Share your thoughts below!
