In a great moment of TV becoming a reality, this past Thursday night when ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ premiered in theaters, actor Wil Wheaton decided to wear a ‘Star Trek’ uniform to the show, mirroring what his character did on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ back in 2015 when going to see ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ with Leonard, Howard and Raj, an episode that included the great line from Wheton ‘Live long and suck it!” to those who felt his attire was offensive.

The meta joke is pretty amazing in my opinion, and you got to love a guy willing to take that kind of risk, as ‘Star Wars’ fans and ‘Star Trek’ fans tend to be a bit hardcore at times, and I could see someone getting offended, especially on opening night. Luckily, it is Wil Wheaton we are talking about here, and he is loved by most, especially after all his turns on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ poking fun at himself and his pseudo-celebrity status.

Here’s his tweet of the night when he attended ‘The Last Jedi’ screening at the famed Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, in costume:

Plus, he did not bash ‘The Last Jedi’ after having seen it, instead commenting on his Twitter post with the following rave review:

“I loved #TheLastJedi! It hit all the right notes for me, and seeing it in the Chinese Theater, surrounded by my fellow nerds was glorious. The Force was with us.”

What do you think of Wheaton wearing a ‘Star Trek’ uniform to ‘The Last Jedi’ screening? Do you, like me, wish that you had been there in person to see it? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
