When ‘The Flash‘ returns in October there will be a new name joining the writer’s room as Sterling Gates (‘The Posthuman Project’) is stepping in to help pen the next season. When Season 3 came to a close, it was left on a huge cliffhanger which will see all of Team Flash having to deal with where Barry ended up. It sounds as if the writer’s room was struggling with the direction of where to take the plot and The CW and DC are happy to have Gates help resolve that.

With ‘The Flash’ generally being the fan-favorite of The CW’s DC televised universe one can only hope this doesn’t mean we’ll be disappointed at the upcoming season. However, as they are looking to correct any issues before filming begins, it sounds like we’ll hopefully not lose any enjoyment of watching The Speedster save Central City as well as the rest of the world.

I’m curious if his focus will be on the overall season or for the inclusion of ‘The Thinker as Barry’s big bad that he’ll have to take down.

Gates is no stranger to this portion of the DC universe as he worked on two companions comics for the show’s with ‘Adventures of Supergirl’ and directly working on Barry in ‘The Flash Season Zero’. The news came initially from Gates who made the announcement on Twitter:

Are you happy to hear that we’ll be seeing Sterling Gates help with ‘The Flash’ going forward? Do you think his work on the comics will translate well to the small screen? Share your thoughts below!
